  1. SDFOIUSOIFJ!~!!!!

    *cough*

That was my very incoherent initial response. WHY did you have to post this when I’m still at work?? Now I must wait the hour until I get home to read it, all the while knowing it is there!

    1. The cold readers are finishing up now, and then it’s only a matter of time! I’m getting excited! And nervous…what was I thinking to choose Caroline? LOL People hate her! I must be nuts!

      1. Do people really care about Maria Lucas? But you made her interesting! πŸ˜€ I cannot wait to see your Caroline! (People love to hate Caroline. They are going to read it if not for anything other than curiosity)! Same reason you check people’s FB status you don’t really care about- you are nosey! πŸ˜‰
Also, I thought the opening chapter truly captured the haughty distain and superiority that Caroline feels towards the Bennets and what has happened to herself. I can’t wait to see how she changes once she arrives back home! πŸ˜€

        1. I hope you’re right, Jakki! I did the best I could, and by the end, I felt as if I truly understood Caroline. And researching this book was instructive for writing antagonists. They don’t have to be out-and-out villains for people to hate them; their desires just have to conflict with the protagonist’s. And Caroline’s certainly conflicted with Elizabeth’s.

  2. Thanks for this first chapter but…oh, now there’s the wait for more! I’m always fascinated by what must be going on in the mind of Caroline — I loved reading her perspective on what happened at Netherfield and her indignation at Darcy being forgiven for meddling but not her ;). And I’m curious about Rosemary and what her developing interactions with Caroline will be. Am so looking forward to the rest!!
