Thank You!

For all you knew, I could have been
the worst writer on the planet.
Thanks for taking a chance on
me and Charlotte Collins!
Thank you all for helping to make the launch of Charlotte Collins so successful and fun. Yesterday, I gave away eight copies to contest winners from around the world–from the US to Turkey. The pre-sales of the book really surprised me. After all, I’m an unknown author who burst onto the scene six weeks ago. For all anyone knew, I could have been the worst writer on the planet. But still you took a chance on me. I mean, I expected my family to buy my book in the pre-sale stage, but I didn’t expect anyone else to. So thank you all for helping to make my dream come true.
So now it’s September 2. The book is available as a paperback and an e-book, which can be read on Kindle, iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, Blackberry, Android phones, Mac, and PC. For some reason, the two versions are currently on separate Amazon.com pages. I’m trying to get the resolved, and I will also be uploading the PDF so that you can use the Search Inside feature. It’s time for me to dig in and market.
I must do the hard work of spreading the word to more Jane Austen lovers. I will be sending promotional materials and a giveaway book to the Jane Austen Society of North America, NY chapter, to take to the Brooklyn Book Fair. Then, there are ads. I’ve got to design them and find the best online venues. I’ve already sent out several review copies, and I look forward to reading the opinions as they come in.

But one of the most important marketing person is YOU. If you read Charlotte Collins and like it, please recommend it to others and review it on Amazon.com or Goodreads.com.

And if you have any ideas for other promotional opportunities, please contact me.

Charlotte Collins sounds like a brilliant idea. As a Jane Austen lover I'm sold!

    Good luck with it!

  2. I wish you nothing but success with your book. I know how nervous you must be — yet elated as well. I'm rooting for you to become a bestseller. Roland

  3. Another BBQ visitor!

Just read the tab about your book, sounds really intriguing! Poor Charlotte gets passed over so much, I'm really excited that she has a chance for a happy ending.

I think you'll definitely get your 1000 sold. Good luck, and I look forward to seeing how it goes for you!

  4. Thanks, BBQ Bloggers! I was away for the weekend, so I just now saw these posts. I'm glad someone other than me is interested in Charlotte. I'd love to hear your opinions on the future I gave her.
